Utensil opt-in configuration for Olo integration

Bite customers with an Olo integration can allow kiosk and flash guests to opt-in to receiving utensils with their order.

To use this feature, customers must set up the configuration in Olo using the dedicated Single Use Items functionality in Olo's Menu Admin. If you need assistance with setting up this feature in Olo, please see Olo's Help Center article HERE or reach out Olo support.

After this functionality has been set up in Olo, please follow steps below on the Bite Admin Portal.

1. Go to Integrations tab

2. Sync Menus

3. Once synced - it will show 'Please select a utensils item' message on the Olo integration

4. Click on the Olo integration & verify that singleUseItemById is populated in syncedData

5. On the same Olo integration modal, find and select a Utensils item

6. Navigate to Kiosk Settings and/or Flash Settings tab, check Utensils opt in on Kiosk orders: box, and click Update.

7. If certain handoff modes are not configured in Olo to ask for dining option (for example, restaurant do not ask DineIn handoff/guests for utensil), we can also allow certain dining options to skip utensils opt-in. Please navigate to Kiosk settings > Dining Options > and then check the Skip Utensils opt in on Kiosk orders: flag and hit Update. If Utensils opt in on Kiosk orders: box under Kiosk Settings and/or Flash Settings tab are not checked, checking the Skip Utensils opt in on Kiosk orders: flag will do nothing.
