Overview
Standard Brink structure includes Items (combos, top-level items, and modifiers) and modifier groups. The integration is menu-based. This means that for an item to appear in Bite, it must be part of a MenuItem, which must belong to a MenuSection (referred to as a Menu Category in Brink), which in turn must belong to a Menu.
Some brands may already have a menu configured in Brink, though it may have been built for a different purpose. Others will not have one set up at all. If a menu needs to be created, follow the steps below using the Brink Settings Editor.
How to enable Refund Policy:
It is required to ensure that an online menu exists for the location in Brink. This online menu must have a refund policy assigned, as well as menu categories linked to it. The steps to enable this once the online menu has been created are included below.
Steps
- Create a new menu by going to Settings Editor > Menus > Add New Menu.
- Navigate to Settings Editor > Options > Online Ordering > General tab.
- Select the newly created menu from the Menu dropdown, then save.
- Navigate to Settings Editor > Options > Customer Portal > Refund Policy.
- Enter any refund policy text and save. This content will not be visible on the kiosk. It is required for the API to return the menu.
- For each menu section needed, create a new Menu Category by going to Settings Editor > Menu Categories > Add New Menu Category.
- Go back to the newly created menu and add the Menu Category to it. Repeat steps 6 and 7 for each section needed.
- For each top-level item to be displayed, create a new Menu Item by going to Settings Editor > Menu Items > Add New Menu Item.
- Go back to the appropriate Menu Category and add the item there. Repeat steps 8 and 9 until all items have been added.
Note: The menu hierarchy described in this article is specific to the Bite integration and must be configured manually if it does not already exist for the brand.
