If you have any questions about the steps below or need assistance from Heartland, you can call them at 888-909-8498. Once there, press "2" and then provide Heartland with the location's MID (Username used in our Heartland Integration settings)
- Charleys-Specific Note: Charleys can call the Heartland Enterprise Support number: 800-403-4621
- If you are experiencing issues with the Heartland payment terminal, call that number above and explain the issue. The Heartland team will then be able to apply new settings of software to the device(s) in question, at which point you'll need to update the device(s) using the steps below.
Editing the payment terminal's Network Settings (Setting a Static IP)

Heartland Admin Passcode
The Heartland Admin passcode changes each day. If you need to get a new Admin Passcode tomorrow, you can do so by calling 888-909-8498. Once there, press "2" and then provide Heartland with the location's MID (Username used in our Heartland Integration settings)
**You can also bypass the password by restarting the device and entering admin by pressing the green key when the display shows “COM Link” in the middle of the screen during the reboot process. It’s a quick prompt, so keep an eye on it. Reboot the device with yellow key and pound key.
Initiating a Partial or Full Download (screenshots of these steps can also be found in this guide here)
Power up the terminal
- Note: Press the yellow key and # at the same time.
The terminal will display PRESS CANCEL FOR APPLICATION MENU; press the red CANCEL button.

Touch FULL for a full download or PARTIAL for a partial download
- Note: According to Heartland, the difference between a Partial or Full download are generally as follows...
- - Partial Download: Used for applying updated setting to the device (enable tap-to-pay, for example)
- - Full Download: Used for applying new software versions or updates to the device
- - - Heartland says that there is no "danger" in running a Full Download when you are not sure which one to use. When in doubt, just kick off a Full Download to ensure that you are capturing all of the latest settings and software updates that Heartland has applied
Touch NO
Touch EDIT to key in the terminal ID. To have the terminal accept the new terminal ID press ENTER.
Touch NEXT to move to the next download parameter.
Touch EDIT
Key in the Application ID (MID), press ENTER
For HPA 5.0.0 Do not leave blank.
For HPA 5.0.1 Leave application ID Blank
Download will begin
