Issue: Elo i5 devices running an Elo Software Version prior to v7.000.004 intermittently appear to lose connection to EloView (MDM) and Bite Admin. While the device may have been able to initially connect to the network via an Ethernet cable without any apparent issues, the Bite team may not be able to see the device as "online" in the EloView MDM while it is in this state.
In past Bite Support tickets relating to this issue, it was also found that Elo i5 devices running an Elo Software Version prior to v7.000.004 do not allow users to access the Ethernet Network configuration menu in the device’s Android settings.
Resolution: Install OS version v7.000.004 or greater
Steps to Resolution:
1: Perform a Factory Reset using these steps (or these steps)
- Note: The Elo Support article linked above indicates that it is intended for i4 devices, but these same steps also apply to the i5 devices
2: Connect the device to an open WiFi network
Note: This is just a temporary measure to ensure that the device remains "online" and connected to EloView while the next step is performed
3: Contact Bite (support@getbite.com), provide them with the Elo Serial Number and request that Bite install OS v7.000.004 or greater
4: After Bite confirms that the Elo Software Version update has been installed, you can then find the Ethernet Network configuration menu in the Android settings.
- If you need to set up a Static IP Address for your Kiosk, you can now do so in the device’s Android Settings.
