After enrolling an Elo device into Bite’s EloView MDM account, you can configure a Static IP address using the steps below.
💡 Important Callouts
The Bite software does not require the Elo device to be connected using a Static IP, but this may be a brand or LAN-specific requirement. Check with your network administrator if unsure.
Performing an Elo Factory Reset (these steps or these steps) will wipe previously-configured Static IP Address configurations
You can also find Elo Support’s instructions here.
The restaurant’s network administrator should provide the needed IP values.
As an example, below are the values that you will need:
Static IP Address: 192.168.1.230
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
DNS Server 1: 8.8.8.8
DNS Server 2: 8.8.4.4
Default Gateway: 192.168.200.1
⚠️ The Bite Support team does not know which IP Address values are available to use under the restaurant’s Local Area Network. Please consult with your network administrator if you’re not sure which Static IP Address scheme to use. ⚠️
Navigate to the kiosk’s network configuration menu.
On the back of the Elo device, press the Home and Power buttons simultaneously.
Note: Press the buttons briefly; do not hold them.
2. Unlock the Device
Tap the Lock symbol on the screen.
Enter the device password
3. Open Admin Settings
Tap the three-stack Menu Icon in the top-right corner.
Select the Admin button.
Enter the password again
4. Access Android Settings
Tap the Settings button.
Select Android Settings from the menu.
5. Configure Ethernet Settings
Navigate to Network & Internet, and then choose Ethernet.
Select Ethernet Configuration.
Change the Connection Type from DHCP to Static IP.
6. Enter Static IP Values
Input the Static IP, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, and DNS values provided by your network administrator.
Press Confirm in the bottom-right corner.
If all steps are followed correctly, you can exit Android Settings and return to the Bite app. After 30-60 seconds of inactivity, the device will return to the app automatically.
Verifying the Configuration with EloView4
You can confirm that the static IP address has been correctly assigned by using Eloview:
Locate device, Navigate to the Settings tab.
Check Network Section: Under the Network title, locate the static IP address.
The new static IP address should be displayed here.
If the address matches the value that was configured on the Elo device’s Network Settings, the setup was successful.
