Setting a Static IP on a ChromeOS Kiosk
If a static IP is required on a ChromeOS device running in kiosk mode, follow these steps:
Steps to Set a Static IP
- Exit Kiosk Mode
- Press Ctrl + Alt + S to break out of the app.
- ⚠️ Note: This can only be done locally and not via remote access.
- Access Network Settings
Click the clock in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
A menu will appear with a "bubble" showing Ethernet or Wireless, depending on the network connection.
- Open Network Settings
Click the gear icon ⚙️ to open network settings.
- Manually Configure the IP Address
Locate the option "Configure IP address automatically" and toggle it off.
Enter the desired static IP address, subnet mask, and gateway manually.
- Save and Confirm
- Ensure all settings are correct and save the configuration.
The kiosk should now be using a static IP address. If issues persist, verify that the network details are correct and restart the device.
Changing Wifi Network after initial setup
Steps to Change Kiosk Wifi Network
- Exit Kiosk Mode
- Press Ctrl + Alt + S to break out of the app.

- Select your Wifi network, and click connect
- Save and Confirm
- Ensure all settings are correct and save the configuration.
After exiting Guest Mode the kiosk will now use the selected Wifi network.
